1. Who We Are

RomeKings is a movie and series streaming service operated for the RomeKings app and website at romekings.com. For privacy questions, account help, or deletion requests, contact support@romekings.com.

2. Scope

This policy explains how RomeKings handles information when you use the RomeKings Android app, mobile API, and website. It is based on the current RomeKings Django backend and React Native app functionality.

3. Information We Collect

  • Account information: full name, username, email address, phone number, password hash, account ID, email verification status, password reset OTPs, and mobile authentication tokens.
  • Subscription and payment records: selected plan amount, subscription status, expiration date, payment method, transaction reference, payment timestamps, and payment-provider status information.
  • App activity: aggregate content views, likes, dislikes, downloads, searches sent to the API, selected movies/series, and locally saved offline Movie Box entries on your device.
  • Device, diagnostics, and app information: Firebase Analytics events, Firebase installation/device identifiers, Crashlytics crash logs, app performance diagnostics, app version/build context, and internal customer ID used for crash support.
  • Support communications: messages you send through support/contact forms, email, WhatsApp, SMS, or other support channels.
  • Server logs and security data: IP address, request path, timestamps, authentication status, and technical logs generated by the website/API infrastructure.

4. How Information Is Collected

Information is collected when you create or update an account, sign in, verify email, reset your password, request support, browse/search the catalog, stream or download subscribed content, initiate payment, or when the app sends diagnostics through Firebase Analytics or Crashlytics. Offline Movie Box files and catalog cache are stored locally on your device.

5. How We Use Information

  • Provide account login, authentication, profile management, email verification, and password reset.
  • Provide streaming, downloads, subscription checks, catalog browsing, search, and offline Movie Box functionality.
  • Process and reconcile subscription payments and prevent fraud or misuse.
  • Send service messages such as verification emails, password reset messages, payment/subscription notices, and support replies.
  • Improve reliability, diagnose crashes, monitor app performance, and understand aggregate app usage.
  • Protect RomeKings, users, content rights, and comply with legal/accounting obligations.

6. Authentication

RomeKings supports email/phone password accounts and may support Google sign-in. Passwords are stored as hashed values, not plain text. Mobile sessions use API tokens. If you log out or delete your account, mobile tokens are revoked or cleared where technically available.

7. Viewing, Search, and Offline Activity

The backend records aggregate counts such as views, likes, dislikes, and downloads. The current backend does not maintain a separate per-user watch-history or favorites table. The Android app stores some local browsing/cache information and offline Movie Box metadata/files on your device so saved titles can be played offline; you can clear cached catalog data and remove offline files in the app.

8. Payments

RomeKings subscriptions are represented in the backend by payment/subscription records. The website may offer Mobile Money through Yo! Payments and card payments through Flutterwave. Payment providers may collect payment credentials, phone number, email, transaction details, device/browser information, and other information necessary to process payments under their own policies. RomeKings stores payment references and subscription status, not full card numbers. 9. Third-Party Service Providers

  • Flutterwave: card/hosted checkout payment processing.
  • Yo! Payments / Mobile Money: Uganda mobile-money payment initiation and status checks.
  • Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics: app analytics, crash logs, diagnostics, device/app identifiers, and internal customer ID for troubleshooting.
  • Email/SMS providers: account verification, password reset, support, and service messages.
  • Hosting, storage, and CDN providers: website/API hosting, logs, static files, media delivery, and content storage.

10. Sharing

We share information with service providers only as needed to operate RomeKings, process payments, deliver communications, host content, secure the service, and diagnose app issues. We may disclose information when required by law, to protect rights and safety, or in connection with business transfers. We do not sell personal information and the app does not include an advertising SDK.

10A. Copyright and Content Complaints

If you submit a copyright or content complaint, RomeKings may use the information you provide to investigate the report, contact you, contact the user or provider associated with the content where appropriate, document the outcome, prevent abuse, and comply with applicable legal or rights-management obligations. 11. Security

RomeKings uses HTTPS/TLS for the production website/API, password hashing, token-based mobile authentication, and restricted operational access. No internet service can be guaranteed perfectly secure, so please use a strong password and contact support if you suspect unauthorized access.

12. Retention

Account data is retained while your account is active. When you delete your account, RomeKings revokes mobile tokens, disables access, removes direct identifiers from the customer record where possible, and may retain limited transaction, subscription, security, and legal/accounting records where necessary. Support requests may be retained long enough to resolve the request and maintain business records.

13. Account and Data Deletion

You can request deletion in the Android app from Profile → Delete account. You can also use the public deletion page at https://romekings.com/data-deletion/, which remains available even if you uninstall the app. Deletion removes app access and direct account identifiers where possible; limited payment/security records may be retained as described above.

14. Your Choices and Rights

You may update profile information in the app or website, clear local cache/offline files in the app, request account deletion, and contact support to access, correct, or ask questions about your information. Available rights may vary depending on your location.

15. Children

RomeKings is a general entertainment streaming service and is not directed to children under 13. Users under the age required by local law should use RomeKings only with a parent or guardian. If you believe a child provided personal information, contact us so we can review and delete it where appropriate.

16. International Processing

RomeKings, its infrastructure, and service providers may process information in Uganda and other countries where hosting, payment, analytics, or support providers operate.

17. Updates

We may update this policy when the app, backend, providers, or legal requirements change. Material updates will be reflected on this page by changing the effective date.
